Workspace trust
Workspace trust
An agent reads and changes the files in your project, so Hypheus works only in a workspace you have marked as trusted.
What happens
- When you open a folder, the editor asks whether you trust its authors. Choose Yes, I trust the authors for projects you control.
- In an untrusted workspace, Hypheus does not start an agent session and shows "Trust this workspace before using Hypheus". The editor opens in Restricted Mode.
- To change your decision later, open the command palette and run Workspaces: Manage Workspace Trust.
What trust does and does not mean
- Trust lets the agent propose reads, edits and commands in that workspace. Each still goes through your approval, or through Autopilot's limits if you start it.
- An agent session is not a filesystem sandbox. An approved command runs as you. Read the command on the approval card before you approve it.
- Anything the agent reads is sent to the model you selected. See Models.
- File tools refuse paths outside the workspace.
