Getting started
Hypheus is a desktop workspace for building with an agent. You describe the work, it proposes file reads, edits and commands, and you decide what runs.
Install
- Download the .dmg from the download section. Choose the build for your Mac: Apple silicon or Intel. To check, open the Apple menu, then About This Mac. The chip line reads Apple M1 or later, or Intel.
- Open the .dmg and drag Hypheus to the Applications folder.
- Open Hypheus from Applications. The app is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so macOS opens it without a warning beyond the standard first-open prompt.
System requirements
- macOS 12 Monterey or later.
- An Apple silicon or Intel Mac. Each gets its own build.
- An internet connection. Hypheus models run in the cloud and need a Crowe ID.
On first launch the home screen asks you to sign in with Crowe ID. Select Open Crowe ID, finish sign-in in your browser, and return to Hypheus. Details are in Sign in with Crowe ID.
Your first task
- Open a project folder and trust it when asked. See Workspace trust.
- On the home screen, type what you want in the message box. Choose a mode beneath it: Ask, Plan or Build. See Modes and approvals.
- Choose a model from the model menu. See Models.
- Send. In Build mode, each file read, edit and command appears as an approval card. Select Approve once or Deny.
- Read the response. It says what changed and names the next step. Run your tests to confirm: a finished response is not a passing test.
Useful to know
- The Agents window opens with Ctrl+Cmd+A.
- Cmd+Enter sends from the home screen.
- The
hypheuscommand can be installed so you can open projects from a terminal. Run Hypheus: Install 'hypheus' Command from the command palette, or accept the prompt when you open a terminal. It links/usr/local/bin/hypheus. - Questions or problems: support@hypheus.com.
