hypheus Download for macOS

Updates

Updates

Hypheus 1.0.2 and later update themselves. Version 1.0.1 and earlier do not, so they need one manual update.

Automatic updates

Hypheus checks for a new version shortly after it starts and about every hour after that. When one is available it downloads in the background. When it is ready, a badge appears on the gear button at the bottom of the activity bar. Open it and choose Restart to Update, and Hypheus relaunches on the new version. Your settings, sign-in and open workspaces stay in place.

To check right away, open the Hypheus menu and choose Check for Updates.

Updates come from hypheus.com. Each one is signed with the same Developer ID as the app and notarized by Apple. macOS refuses an update that does not carry the same signature as the app you are running.

Turn automatic checks off

Open Settings and search for update mode. Set it to manual to stop the background checks and update only when you choose Check for Updates, start to check only at launch, or none to turn updates off.

Update by hand

If you are on 1.0.1 or earlier, or you prefer to install yourself:

  1. Quit Hypheus.
  2. Download the latest .dmg from hypheus.com. The download section always shows the current version.
  3. Open the .dmg and drag Hypheus to Applications. Choose Replace.
  4. Open Hypheus. Your settings and sign-in stay in place.

Check your version

With Hypheus in front, open the Hypheus menu, then About Hypheus. Compare it with the version on the download section.

Intel Macs

Intel and Apple silicon Macs each receive their own build. The current release includes both. An Intel Mac is never sent the Apple silicon build, and the reverse.
