Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting
Start with the symptom closest to yours. If none fits, contact support@hypheus.com and include your Hypheus version and macOS version.
macOS will not open the app
Hypheus is signed and notarized. If macOS still blocks it, make sure you dragged it to Applications and are not running it from the .dmg. If it says Hypheus cannot run on this Mac, you have the build for the other chip. Download the Intel or Apple silicon build that matches About This Mac.
Sign-in does not finish
- Keep Hypheus open while you sign in, and finish in the same browser window that opened.
- Sign-in returns to a local address on your Mac. Security software that blocks local connections on 127.0.0.1 can stop it. Allow Hypheus, then try again.
- If the browser shows an error from Crowe ID, note the message and send it to support.
The model list is empty or a model is disabled
- Select Refresh in Settings, then Account.
- A disabled model is labelled with the plan it needs. Compare plans at crowelogic.com/pricing.
- Check your internet connection. Hypheus models run in the cloud.
Hypheus will not start a session

A command or edit does not run
Hypheus waits for your decision on the approval card. Autopilot can authorize eligible commands automatically; a command rejected by its policy, or which it cannot classify, still needs your decision. If an edit is refused, the file changed after the agent read it. Ask again so the agent reads the current version.
Autopilot stopped
The banner or review names the reason: Task complete, Turn limit reached, Action limit reached, or The turn failed. For a limit, start again with a higher turn or time limit. To revert, use Undo all Autopilot changes in the review.
The hypheus command is not found
Run Hypheus: Install 'hypheus' Command from the command palette. It links /usr/local/bin/hypheus and may ask for permission to do so.
Reset the app
Quit Hypheus, then move ~/Library/Application Support/Hypheus and ~/.hypheus-code to the Desktop. Open Hypheus again for a fresh profile. Moving the folders keeps a copy; delete them later if you do not need it. Your sign-in will be asked for again.
Known limits
- Hypheus runs on macOS. Windows and Linux builds are not provided.
- Models from Claude Code and Codex command-line tools are not available as engines in this version.
- The built-in browser is a preview and not a signed-in browser.
- The upstream editor's Copilot features are not part of Hypheus.
